The building is outfitted with a VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) system that monitors microscopic particles in the air via laser. VESDA is 100 times more sensitive than conventional smoke detectors and provides 4 levels of alarm to allow ample time to locate the source of a problem.
In the event harmful levels of smoke are detected, an art-safe gas, Inergen, is discharged. Inergen displaces the normal atmosphere, lowering the oxygen level below flashpoint, effectively suffocating a fire. Inergen is safe for people and the environment. This is the safest and cleanest method to protect valuables.
